SEOUL -- Daelim Industrial, a South Korean construction and petrochemical company, will build and operate a petrochemical plant in Saudi Arabia to produce polybutene, an organic polymer used as key materials for sealants, adhesives and cosmetics products.
Daelim said in a statement Wednesday that it would build a factory capable of producing 80,000 tons of polybutene annually in a petrochemical complex in Jubail. Construction starts in 2022 for commercial operation in 2024.
Daelim currently operates a polybutene factory with a production capacity of 200,000 tons per year in an industrial complex in the southern port city of Yeosu. The company plans to boost production.
